A. Moriones Festival - It is a colorful and meaningful celebration being held at Marinduque, Philippines every year during the Holy Week. The term "Moriones" refers to the locals wearing masks and Moriones festival costumes imitating the Roman soldiers in the bible. The highlight of the Moriones festival is the re-enactment of the Passion of Christ up to the part where Saint Longinus, the one-eyed blind roman soldier who pierced the side of Christ, regained his sight when the blood of Jesus went to his blind eye. B. Kadayawan Festival - It is a thanksgiving ritual to the gods specifically to "Manama" or the "Supreme Being" and "Bulan" who is a "moon deity". People believe that, a long time ago, ancient visayans and ethnic tribes in Davao residing at the foot of Mount Apo would meet during a generous harvest and celebrate the coming of the full moon because they believed that "the diwata came to earth at that time" and so, other people on the island followed this tradition. Kadayawan festival dance is being done every third week of August each year in Davao City, Philippines.
